How to Tag for a Sale

Quality Control

Please, check items for stains, holes, missing buttons/snaps, broken zippers, fading etc. Items can and will be refused due to not meeting quality standards. MUST BE LESS THAN 5 YRS OLD and be of current style.

Clothing Standards

Clothes should be freshly laundered, pressed and neatly hung.

Toys & Equipment

Toys and baby equipment should be clean, complete, working, and include batteries (if applicable). Car Seats should not be expired or have been involved in ANY vehicle accident.

If you are questioning if you should bring an item, you should probably leave it home

$2.00 Item Limit

All items must be priced at $2.00 or more. This includes clothing, toys, books, shoes, and supplies. If your single, hanging, clothing item cannot bring $2.00 on its own, pair it with something similar and THE SAME SIZE that will bring it to this amount.

Books and toys may also be bundled together in baggies to create a higher value.

**Please pay attention to item quantity limits and items allowed/not allowed noted on our website.**

If you question an item, feel free to ask that question to our Facebook group of consignors. Here is the link to that group to join.

How to Use our Online Tagging System

Our Online Tagging System

Kids Carousel uses an online barcode tagging system through our partner site MyConsignmentManger
This may sound a little intimidating, but it is VERY EASY

  • Register for the CURRENT sale/event.

  • Our system will automatically assign you a seller number.

  • If you are a returning consignor, your consignor number will remain the same.  However, you will still need to login, register.
  •
  • If you plan to bring unsold items from a previous sale make sure you transfer those items into your inventory so they will process at checkout for your account.

  • Choose 350 of your best items to put into the sale. Remember, 100 of these can be adult/teen but MUST be brands listed on website.

* If you need to increase that quantity please contact us at kidscarouselbg@gmail.com and we can raise that number for you.  The charge to raise your quantity of items is $15 and you MUST have a 65% sell thru from previous sale.

How to Create Tags

Once you have registered through on our partner site MyConsignmentManager for our current sale you may begin entering your information to create a tag for each of your items.

The tags will be printed out at the end – either as a group, or individually, whichever you prefer.  Printing instructions are included below.

Follow the Steps or Watch Video

1. Login with your user name & password

2. Under Consignment select the current sale.

3.  Click on Add (a drop down will appear choose manual or voice)

4. Begin Entering Your first item by choosing Category (ie Girls Clothing)

5. From the Size drop-down menu select the size of your item if applicable.

6. Next use the Description space to identify your item.  If a tag becomes separated from an item, we use this description to put the two items back together.

7. Next you may choose to Discount – By clicking here you are indicating that you want to sell your item for ½ price during the half-price sale on Sunday.

8. Now you may choose to Donate – Tell us what items you want to take home with you after the sale. A “Yes” will indicate that you will NOT be taking that item back home after the sale, and Kids Carousel will be donating the item on your behalf. By selecting donate, it will also default to discount.

9. Now it’s time to select a Price for your item– Minimum price must be $2 and increase in $.50 increments. Click here for more ideas about pricing your items.  For Pricing Help Click Here

10. Finally, select Add Item. Now your tag has been saved to your account and you may continue this process for the remainder of your items.

11. This entire process will go very quickly. You can enter some or all of your items at once, that is up to you. By selecting Manage Inventory you can view and/or make changes to your tags.

12. You may also select Print Tags to print out the required barcoded tag to attach to your item. You can choose to either print your tags all at once or you can do a little bit at a time, it’s up to you. For most printers, you will need to feed your cardstock into the printer one page at a time. Each sheet will print 8 tags which you will need to cut apart on the lines as indicated on the page.

13.  If choosing Avery 5160 sticker label; enter the brand/description in the brand section.  Leave the description blank.

14. DO NOT use avery labels on clothing items unless it’s a bagged item such as shoes or accessories.  NO CLOTHING ALLOWED IN BAGS!!!

15. Do not make handwritten changes or corrections to your tags. Make a new tag if you make a mistake or change your mind about a price.  NO HANDWRITTEN TAGS!!

If using avery labels (NOT ALLOWED ON CLOTHING) place packaging tape over barcode so it doesn't fade

Include your description on your tag as this helps identify the item it belongs to if the tag falls off. *If printing on avery labels enter all of brand/description in the BRAND section only. Leave description blank.

Do not use tape on decals

Do NOT place tape on a part of an item that may damage the item (such as decals on toys)

Clothing is BEST priced at 25%-35% of the retail price. See the pricing guide for more information.

Donate your items

You have the opportunity to donate your items if they DO NOT sell. We have partnered with several local agencies to ensure they go to a good cause.

Do Not Donate Items

If you do not want to donate your items, be sure to HIGHLIGHT THE RIGHT SIDE OF YOUR TAG. Choose the color associated with the first letter in your last name

Hanging your clothes

When hanging your clothes be sure to hang the item with the hook hanging left. Right arm of a shirt in the form of a question mark. We accept any type of hanger (wire, plastic, kid and adult sizes) Below is a link to child size wire hangers that make it very easy to hang items on. Walmart also carries a good plastic hanger.

Any items left after 2pm on the Sunday after the event will be donated no exceptions!

Example of Tagged Items

Use clear plastic bags for items with multiple pieces

No clothing except shoes, socks, & accessories are allowed in plastic bags.

Feel free to use a zip tie to tie shoes together but reinforce the tag hole to prevent loss. Items sell better when shoppers can touch and feel them.

ITEMS WITH MULTIPLE PIECES (TABLES W/CHAIRS ETC) or XL Items
(high chairs, car seats, jumperoos etc)

**Hold your large item tag until drop off so we can put a claim ticket on that item & attach your tag to the claim ticket**

Tagging Tips

Large items

If you have large items that would be difficult to carry to check out please hold the tags aside and bring them in with you at check in so we can put a large item claim tag on it.  Basically this is a tag that looks like the pic at the bottom of the page and we attach either your Avery barcode label or cardstock tag to the bottom so they can tear the bottom half off and bring to the cashier stations.  Makes it much easier for all shoppers.

Blankets (infant) and Sleeping bags

These items should be rolled and packaging tape wrapped around them or a ribbon with tag attached with tape, tagging gun, or tied onto it if you wrap ribbon around it.  See pic at the bottom of page for example of rolling it and securing with a ribbon.  Blankets really do not need to be in baggies b/c shoppers like to touch and feel.

Bibs and Burp Cloths

Bibs and burp cloths must be pinned together, cable tied together, or you can use a tagging gun to connect them together.  THEY ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTED IN BAGS UNLESS NEW IN PACKAGE.

Tights and Footless Leggings
Beginning Spring 2025 all tights & footless leggings must be hung.

Bows
When selling bows attach tag to bow to the tag and hole punch a hole into tag or bring and we will place a hook barb on it so they can be hung on the “bow wall”  Remember, items buyers can touch and feel sell faster.

Sleepers/Onesies/Sleep Sacks
DO NOT BAG THESE ITEMS.  All clothing must be hung!  Consider hanging multiples of sleepers/onesies on a hanger.
